Powder Room Options

ARCTICdeco.com: Powder Room OptionsAfter deliberating over your many comments, I decided to consider some alternative options. I also happened to stumble across this new-fangled AMAZING program online that’s like Pinterest with photo montages (yay!) called POLYVORE. Although, according to Lauren (one of the most media-savvy fashionistas I know), I’m not ACTUALLY the first to discover it and am seemingly behind in the times for not having already known (*sigh), but I’m still going to take full credit and if you have already heard about it, just pretend you didn’t.

So here are some Polyvore layouts I’ve constructed for the powder room. The first consists of most of this past week’s ideas. The second are my newer ideas that are more white and icy and I’m kinda falling in love with it and moving away from the darks. I’ve also given them very romanticized indulgent titles, after being inspired by the very cheesy paint chip names I’ve been sorting through this afternoon.Β Powder Room – Option 1: Carrara at Midnight

Powder Room Option 1
Β Powder Room – Option 2: Sea Ice Escape
Powder Room Option 2

So cast your vote! State your preference, or feel free to create your OWN Polyvore board and send it in for consideration.

P.S. I ALSO just discovered/invented the best new condiment on the street – Sriracha-Mayo. MMmm! But don’t tell Lauren…she probably already knows about it. πŸ˜‰

Maybe the folks in Beggar’s Bush will have something laying around for you to put on the wall!

Good idea Marieke! Maybe I can get that zebra head for above the loo as well. Although, I’m also partial to the pigmy hippo. Hmmmmm. Maybe Ruth can hook me up with some skulls. πŸ™‚

My vote is for your initial instinct, Carrara at Midnight, all the way! Only thing I’d switch up is rather than a white Godmorgon on white tile, do the black/brown wood Godmorgon on the white carrara backdrop, because you’re not going to have wood floors so you need that hit of wood for warmth… picture Sarah’s House 1 bathroom (http://bit.ly/15L6kys), the dark wood elevates the elegance. And then with your navy paint on the other three walls for serious richness, which I don’t think for a second will be too dark or cave-like because it will be covered in art with white paper and mats! Another interesting possibility could be to do carrara around the entire lower half of the bathroom, a marble chair rail, and then the navy paint above that, rather than one full wall of tile, like the Sarah’s House 1 downstairs powder room but tile/paint instead of paint/wallpaper (http://bit.ly/13N8nnK). And finally, as marble isn’t really necessary on powder room walls, you could save those beautiful carrara subway tiles for the floor, eliminate the hexagons as grout cleaning on those sucks, do the whole room in the dark blue, and go with the white Godmorgon for contrast, and maybe get some nice sconces for either side of the mirror to add some extra light to the space. Kay, I’ll shut up now πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see which direction you take!!!
